Second baseman Jose Altuve of the World Series champion Houston Astros and Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton won baseball’s most valuable player award yesterday (November 16th), Altuve in the American League and Stanton in the National League.
Altuve got 27 of 30 first-place votes from members of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, while Stanton edged out Joey Votto of the Cincinnati Reds, with both getting 10 first-place votes, but Stanton getting 302 points to Votto’s 300.
