Wendy Williams recently made a comment about The Clark Sisters on her show, while discussing Snoop Dogg’s new gospel album Bible of Love snagging the No. 1 spot on the charts. Wendy said about The Clark Sisters — who are featured on Snoop’s album, “If I were The Clark Sisters, would I be mad that Snoop got #1, The Clark Sisters they’ve been doing Gospel forever have they gotten #1, Oh well, step up your game.”
Wendy’s comment resulted in her being slammed on social media. TV personality GooGoo Atkins wrote on Instagram, “@wendyshow you owe these legends a HUGE apology. YOU don’t know them because they don’t live messy scandalous lives and that’s ALL YOU know and seem to care about. But to disrespect and disregard ALL that they have accomplished in music (all genres), and further suggest jealousy was tasteless, IGNORANT, disrespectful and uncalled for. They have absolutely positively no reason to be jealous of Snoop whom they look at as a nephew, who grew up admiring THEIR music. They have absolutely positively no reason to be jealous of anyone, and they are not, because they are godly, confident and VERY ACCOMPLISHED musicians. The Gospel music industry is VERY OFFENDED by your most recent IGNORANT, uninformed comments regarding OUR QUEENS! And to the LEGENDARY CLARK SISTERS, WE ADORE YOU!”

Somehow they’ve managed to sing about #Jesus in one of the smallest, but most effective genres of music, have influenced masses and influenced those who influence the masses. In addition, they’ve managed to take their message to some of the world’s most biggest platforms and their message still translates through generations. Not to mention those they’ve mentored and managed to genuinely pray and show concern for you, when YOU passed out; while the world waited for your demise. Be careful who you come for. Not everyone is worth it!! This is a different caliber of people. We pray you have peace of mind and successful rest.”
