There is no doubt that Michael Jackson is one of the greatest performers of all time. From hit albums to classic dance moves his legendary status is undeniable.

Now the black loafer’s MJ wore during the first time he performed his signature moonwalk dance move is up for auction.

According to CNN, Michael first wore the loafers while in rehearsal for his “Billie Jean,” performance for Motown 25 in 1983. The rehearsal for the show marked the first time the singer performed the infamous dance move.

The shoes are going up for auction under GWS Auctions on May 26th.

Brigitte Kruse, the owner of GWS Auctions has given a “very conservative estimate” of $10,000.

Kruse said, “Anything related to Michael Jackson is extraordinary, and to have something so incredibly historical as these shoes worn by Michael when he first did that now famous moonwalk is beyond special.”

The shoes were previously owned by choreographer, Lester Wilson, who said MJ gave him the shoes following the Motown special.
