R. Kelly is in the headlines in two separate cases this week. First, the Chicago singer lost a lawsuit filed against a Georgia concert venue after failing to show up to a Chicago federal courtroom hearing.

The suit was filed last year by Kelly’s management company, RSK Enterprises, claiming breach of contract against Georgia’s Macon Coliseum-operator Comcast Spectacor over a concert in February 2017. The case alleged that Comcast Spectacor never wired Kelly $100,000 owed for a performance he delivered. The musician sought that amount plus damages.

Kelly had failed to appear at hearings on April 3 and May 8 and Judge John Robert Blakey had warned Kelly that “any future failures to appear may subject this case to a dismissal for want of prosecution.”

In other Kelly news, he’s being sued for sexual assault by a woman who claims he held her against her will and abused her.

Faith Rodgers filed the lawsuit in New York, claiming they met in March 2017 when she was 19 following a performance in San Antonio. In the suit, she says Kelly flew her to NYC for one of his concerts after the initial meeting. After the show, she alleges that Kelly “bombarded” her hotel room and initiated “unwanted sexual contact” with her. After what she says was “abusive sex,” Kelly allegedly criticized her for being boring in bed.

That’s not the worst of it. Per TMZ, Rodgers contracted herpes from Kelly. She says they dated for a year during which she alleges he mentally, verbally and sexually abused her. She’s suing him for sexual battery, false imprisonment and failure to disclose an STD.
