He encountered Pelham police officers along the way who took him to breakfast and also dropped him off at his destination. The news struck a Bellhops client who, impressed by Carr’s work ethic, started a GoFundMe in his honor which raised $6,600. The good will of Carr’s decision went all the way up to Bellhops CEO Luke Marklin who drove down from Tennessee in his own car on Monday — to give it to Carr.
