Denzel Washington is once more king of the box-office. His Equalizer 2 film narrowly edged out Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again this weekend in a battle of sequels.
The Equalizer 2 raked in an estimated $35.8 million from Friday to Sunday to take the #1 spot, which is almost identical to what the original Equalizer made when it was released in 2014, also at No. 1. That film went on to earn more than $100 million at the box-office.
The Mamma Mia! sequel finished second with $34 million to its name.
