Two sisters in Mississippi have been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of their mother.

32-year-old Erica Hall was reportedly stabbed inside of her mobile home, allegedly by her daughters, a 12 and 14-year-old. She suffered multiple stab wounds and also a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

“She was stabbed in the back. The knife was still in her back,” Hall’s aunt, Robin Coney said.

Coney added, “It was her gun. It was in her car. So they had got it out. So I guess when they were doing all that to her, she was probably trying to get to her gun to fight for her life.”

The 14-year-old, Amariyona Hall is being charged as an adult with murder. She is being held in the Pike County Jail according to Pike County Sheriff Kenny Cotton on $150,000 bond. Her preliminary hearing is set for January 22. Her 12-year-old sister, whose name or charges will not be released due to youth court proceedings, is being held in the Adams County Detention Center.

“They’re charged with murder and we’re going to apply the law. I can’t imagine what’s going on inside their minds to process that,” Cotton said. “A mom is a mom no matter what.”
