BET hasn’t forgotten about Being Mary Jane. After ending the Gabrielle Union fronted series back in 2017, the network said the series would have a proper ending with a 2-hour television movie.
It was a full circle move considering that Being Mary Jane originally began as a TV movie that morphed into a beloved television show. Now there’s a teaser for the upcoming film and it shows Mary Jane looking at a mirror while in a wedding dress before her mother, played by Margaret Avery enters and tells her, “It’s time.”
Wait, wedding? Back in 2017, Union did say that the movie would focus more on what happened between Mary Jane and Justin (Michael Ealy).
