Jennifer Lopez is many things. A Fly Girl, an accomplished entertainer, but some are questioning her next role as a slap in the face of present legends.
According to reports, Lopez is set to participate in a Motown tribute at the Grammys on Sunday night in a celebration of the label which is celebrating its diamond anniversary in 2019.
Founded in 1959 by Berry Gordy Jr as Tamla Records, the label was incorporated as Motown Record Corp in 1960, becoming home to Hitsville, U.S.A. and acts such as The Jackson 5, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder and more.
So when Twitter users found out that Lopez would be involved in the tribute, folks didn’t necessarily respond in kind.
The Grammys air Sunday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. on CBS.
