Kelly Rowland‘s new single is all about hair empowerment and being proud of the hair you have.
Rowland released a new single in partnership with Dove called “Crown,” tearing down society’s idea of what is considered beautiful hair and encourages our younger members of society to cherish their locks, period. The video features Rowland alongside Tyrelle Davis, Faith Fennidy and Jorja and Sarah Orrick, all young individuals who have faced bullying and discrimination over their hair.
The title of the song comes from a quote Rowland’s mother told her growing up, “Baby, your hair is your crowning glory.” Watch the video below.
