HOUSTON—Police were investigating after a man crashed his car into a Hilton parking garage at Avenue De Las Americas and Polk late Tuesday night.
According to investigators, a man was driving a Nissan south on Avenue De Las Americas when his two passengers told him he’d turned the wrong way.
Police said the man became confused, so he slammed on his brakes. The car apparently slid on the wet road and popped the curb, smashing into a glass stairwell entry on the parking garage.
The vehicle came to a rest in the stairwell. The driver was taken to St. Joseph’s with minor injuries, but his two passengers were not hurt, police said.
Police said speed was a factor in the accident. The whole thing was caught on Hilton surveillance cameras.
