The Arizona legislature is requesting that President Barack Obama show the state his birth certificate before seeking reelection in 2012.
The Associated Press reports that a state House committee approved a measure yesterday — sponsored by 40 of Arizona’s 90 state legislators — that would require presidential candidates to submit documentation proving their eligibility to serve as president before appearing on Arizona’s ballot.
Skull Valley Republican Judy Burges came up with the idea and all of the proposal’s co-sponsors who approved this request are also Republicans.
