MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas—A couple was critically burned Thursday after an early morning fire swept through their home near Willis.

It happened in the 2900 block of Seminole near Willis.

The North Montgomery County Fire Department arrived around 3 a.m. to find the home fully engulfed in flames.
Neighbors helped drag the couple, a 44-year old man and a 62-year-old woman, out of the burning home before emergency crews reached the scene.
The home had burglar bars which may have hampered the couple’s attempt to get out, according to investigators.
