Have you seen the Mt. Rushmore memes?

Essentially it’s a ranking system meant to highlight the pioneers of a genre or industry. In music, it’s become popular to list the “forefathers” of a particular region with these memes, so you may see a “Mt. Rushmore” or music stars from cities like New York, Los Angeles.. and of course, H-Town.

The controversy comes with the fact that these cities have so many legendary names – many of whom have played an integral role in shaping the sound of their town – so how does one fairly (and accurately) pick just FOUR individuals to highlight? Someone will inevitably get left off the list.. which makes for interesting debates on who should be listed and why.

During a recent stop by A G & A Pimp, Z-Ro and Lil Flip shared their thoughts on the trend, and explained how they feel the city’s greats should be highlighted.
