The Official Tina Turner wig is made of “100-percent Remy human hair” and was created by her hairstylist, Arthur Johns. While Johns insist the one-thousand-dollar wig is representative of the kinds of hairpieces he styled for Turner, fans say it looked “like Little Orphan Annie.” The wig was removed from the Tina Turner website and all social channels within hours of its introduction.
The Wig is Priced at 694.99 British pounds, or about $935 before taxes and shipping. . It came with a Certificate of Authenticity “signed by Arthur Johns himself,” According to Arthur Johns who insists the wig is representative of the kinds of hairpieces he styled for Turner.
“Tina wore that hair,” he says. “If you do your research, you’ll see that curl was very popular in the ’90s and through the early 2000s. Fans were not having it at all!
