Kandi Burruss Brings “I Do. I Did. I’m Done” To Houston

Houston, get ready for a very different kind of night with Kandi Burruss.
Kandi is bringing “I Do. I Did. I’m Done.” to House of Blues Houston on Sunday, August 23, and this isn’t simply a concert where you sit back and wait for the hits. This is Kandi telling her story through music, comedy, audience interaction and some very personal moments. The Houston show is scheduled for 6 p.m. and is a 21-and-over event.
In an interview with Ricky Smiley, Kandi explained that creativity has always been a way for her to work through difficult moments. She said the show grew out of the experience of going through her divorce and wanting to create something intimate that could take audiences through the good, the funny, the complicated and ultimately the truth behind what happened.
And I love that idea because sometimes healing doesn’t happen quietly. Sometimes you have to write about it, sing about it, laugh about it and finally say, “Okay, let me tell y’all what REALLY happened!”
Kandi says audiences can expect music, a DJ, partying, crowd participation and even stories and clips that she hasn’t previously shared online. So yes, there will be fun, but there will also be vulnerability.
That’s the beauty of storytelling. You can laugh with somebody and then suddenly realize you’re hearing a part of their life that they had never shared before.
Houston, come ready to sing, laugh, listen—and maybe learn a little something about moving forward when one chapter of your life is officially done.
