Retail gasoline prices continue to drop across Texas going into the Memorial Day weekend and the start of the summer vacation season.

The weekly AAA Texas survey released Thursday shows the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded fell 7 cents to $2.67, the fifth weekly drop in a row.

The national average is $2.76, 8 cents less than last week. The state’s cheapest gas this week is in Fort Worth-Arlington, where the average price fell a dime to $2.62 per gallon. The most expensive gas is, as usual, in El Paso. There, the average price fell a nickel to $2.75 per gallon.

An auto club statement says falling crude oil prices and lush oil and gasoline inventories continue to suppress gasoline prices.
