Chris Tucker remains in that limbo of people who have once been very, very famous and then for reasons unknown to them or the public fall out of the public eye. It’s nothing specific that Tucker did or didn’t do. He didn’t beat up a girlfriend or go to jail or appear on reality TV. But maybe that’s the problem. Tucker, who was both comedian and cult figure after his role as Smokey in the first “Friday” movie and after his three “Rush Hour” movies with Jackie Chan, was looking to do more quality work. But somehow, after the huge successes of those roles, more challenging roles never came. So he took the time out to raise his teenage son and waited for another opportunity. He hopped inside the 'Red Velvet Cake' studio to chill with the Fly Jock Tom Joyner and crew this morning talk about why he came back, the IRS problems he has had over the years, possibly another upcoming movie with action actor Jackie Chan and also he gives his thoughts on the Jackson family and his relationship with one of his best buddies, the late Michael Jackson. He's currently on tour and if you're going out of town, check him out in Dallas tonight at 8pm at the Verizon Theater at Grand Prairie. Never a dull moment with Chris, we're glad he is back on stage, check out the audio!

Besides being a religious leader, anyone who follows Bishop T.D. Jakes knows he continuously gives back to the community in more ways than one. One of those ways is entertainment and movies. The most anticipated movie of the summer, 'Sparkle' will be in theaters tomorrow and Bishop was one of the major producers of the film. He called the TJMS this morning to talk to the Fly Jock Tom Joyner and crew about why he chose not to make a cameo appearance in the film, he definitely speaks about the late Whitney Houston, he spoke about the emergence of singer/actress Jordin Sparks and how she handled her fist major motion picture with professionalism and even revealed that the late songstress Aaliyah was initially coined to play the role that Jordin Sparks played. Everything the Bishop has his hands on comes out to be successful and we can't see any reason why 'Sparkle' will be any different. Check out the interview and make sure you see the movie for yourself.

Mike Epps has a pivotal role in the remake of the movie “Sparkle” due out this Friday. He plays Satin Struthers, a gangster in the original film, who’s been remade into a comedian this time. But this doesn’t mean Epps is any less menacing. His Struthers is a comic who’s become embittered by his lack of respect in his own community. Epps’ role isn’t the comic relief – he’s once again playing a dramatic role as he did in “Jumping the Broom.” Mike called the TJMS to talk about the fact that he KNEW he could always perform in more serious roles as opposed to comedy roles but he needed someone to believe in him. He also talks about working with the late Whitney Houston because the movie is dedicated to her. Check the interview for yourself. Go see 'Sparkle', opening in theatres this Friday.

Some people may know Terry Crews best as the reality TV star of BET’s “The Family Crews” but he’s also a movie actor. A former NFL player, Crews has appeared in 32 movies since 2000. Now he’s heading back to the big screen in “Expendables 2,” the second of what appears to be a movie franchise in the making about a group of mercenaries who are called upon to solve problems that require their specific destructive skills. Crews is part of the action-star heavy cast that also includes such heavyweights as Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Steve Austin, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham and more. Terry called the Fly Jock and crew this morning and had a great time and he even revealed that they are already filming an 'Expendables 3' and they want actor (and currently locked up in prison) Wesley Snipes in the next movie. Check out the interview and check out the movie which comes out in theatres everywhere August 17th.

It's been awhile since 1st lady Michelle Obama called the TJMS but it was worth the wait. She has a new global campaign she's pushing called 'It Takes One'. The program encourages supporters to make a difference in this year's election, and to "start by taking one action that will help grow our campaign, urging supporters to fight voter suppression and get out and vote." You really can make a difference andit really does only takes one. However, before she get into that, we find out that Mrs. Obama is a BIG Eric Benet' fan and she loves Ledisi as well. The Fly Jock Tom Joyner asks her 'who is the better singer out of Eric Benet and her hubby President Barack Obama?'. Click on the audio to find out what she said. We're happy that she stopped by to talk to us and the world! Make a difference and get out and vote because like Mrs. Obama said, it only takes one!

The gay marriage topic has been out in the open quite a bit since President Barack Obama supported gay marriage recently and the controversy surrounding the restaurant food chain Chick Fila and their gay marriage stance has really taken the subject over the top and the Fly Jock Tom Joyner asks gospel recording artists Donnie […]

The fact that the most powerful gospel singers in the game, Kirk Franklin, Israel Houghton, Donnie Mcclurkin and Marvin Sapp are coming to Houston at the Reliant Arena on September 27th is enough to listen to this quick interview.  They have a ton of chemistry, not just spiritual but all in fun as well.  As […]

The title to this interview can make anyone feel uneasy, however, this is exactly what she had to go through. Former ABC News Weekend anchor Carole Simpson is an intelligent ‘black’ woman who has been through a lot and for years kept it under wraps.  Not anymore though, she has a story that really needed to be told.  Throughout […]

Once a boy band but now a mature group (and also legendary) New Edition has been through quite a bit and luckily, not many lineup changes (only Johnny Gill replaced Bobby Brown).  Officially on tour and now celebrating their 30th anniversary and they will also perform in Orlando, Florida at the Gaylord Palms resort for […]
