Facebook has announced that as of today (July 1st), it is expanding its definition of pages and groups that are too controversial to carry ads, pulling them from pages that contain violence or sexual content. The move comes after Facebook lost more than a dozen advertisers after the group Women, Action and the Media urged an advertising boycott over content that included disturbing photos and statements that encouraged rape, abuse and other violence against women. While Facebook will continue to remove pages if they violate its terms of service, the new policy covers pages that while controversial, are allowed.  (Pulse of Radio)
