“Law & Order: SVU” has a new Assistant District Attorney.
Following reports that Paula Patton had been in talks to join the cast, executive producer Neal Baer has confirmed that the “Precious” star has officially signed on, according to Variety.
Patton will play the show’s new assistant district attorney Mikki Von.
“When I saw Paula Patton give that terrific performance [in Precious], I knew she’d be perfect for SVU’s new ADA,” Baer said. “She’s funny, warm and witty.”
Mikki, who is described as “charming and savvy,” follows the departure of former ADA Alexandra Cabot (Stephanie March), and for a split second last season, Jo Marlowe, played by Sharon Stone.
The new season of “Law & Order: SVU” will premiere on Sept. 23 on NBC.
