Katherine Jackson, the mother of late pop star Michael Jackson, is suing AEG Live, claiming the company breached their agreement to provide physical care for her son.
The suit also says AEG Live was negligent in their hiring of Conrad Murray as MJ’s doctor. In the meantime, Murray’s attorney’s have asked a federal judge to dismiss the suit filed by the singer’s father because the he is not the beneficiary of the singer’s estate. Jackson omitted his father form his 2002 will.
“At its essence, (Joe Jackson’s complaint which is seeking more than $75,000 in damages) is a press-release that is intended to prejudice and inflame the jury pool and the public” against Murray and his medical practice, the lawyers argued.
The proposal will be considered on Oct. 18.
