LIVONIA, Mich. — Aretha Franklin says she’s curious about exactly what former belongings of hers might be sold this weekend in suburban Detroit.

The Queen of Soul said in a statement to The Detroit News that she has no connection to Saturday’s planned sale, which is offering clothing, shoes and household items. She said they’re “items that I didn’t want anymore and left in a storage locker … many years ago.”

She adds that she “wouldn’t mind seeing the items, just to see what they are.”

Jill Pendergast, who is working with the items’ owner Al Parham in the sale, says they’ll release the sale’s exact location Saturday morning. She says Parham bought the items after they were left for years with a storage business. She says the sale will be in Livonia.
