Hide your hairweaves, curling irons and Louboutins – The VH1 Divas are back.

Launched in 1998 to help raise funds for the network’s Save The Music Foundation, VH1 Divas Live concerts – which were held annually until 2004 and returned in 2009 – have spotlighted the best and brightest female talent across all genres.

For this year’s show, “VH1 Divas Celebrate Soul,” its featured artists will pay tribute to the key cities where soul music was created. The sounds and stars of Philadelphia, Memphis, London, Chicago, and Detroit will all have a prominent role on the show, and The Roots will be the night’s backing band.

Last week, singers extraordinaire Anita Baker, Mavis Staples and Ledisi were added to an already impressive performance line-up that includes Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott, Chaka Khan, Marcia Ambrosius and Erykah Badu, among others.

Queen Latifah, Nas and Common will also make appearances.

“VH1 Divas Celebrate Soul” airs on the network on Monday, Dec. 19 at 9 p.m. EST.
