According to the Houston police, an accused murderer is behind bars. Jonathan Renard Castaneda was arrested Monday night for beating three people in southeast Houston last week and leaving one of them dead.

On June 8, 2012, police were called to a home on Van Fleet and Jutland after a neighbor saw a woman lying in the street just after midnight. Upon entering the home, authorities found three victims severely beaten and one man, 45-year-old Baron Keith Armstrong, dead at the scene. Police also found one woman who had been sexually assaulted. Police learned that 25-year-old Castaneda was allegedly responsible for all of those crimes. They immediately began a search for him.

Additional reports indicate that Castaneda allegedly used furniture and anything within his sight and grasp to beat the people around him after an argument at the home. Police also found the home ransacked.

Castaneda remains in the Harris County Jail on murder, aggravated assault and rape charges. He has has no bond.

Investigators say that Castaneda has a lengthy criminal history with at least a dozen previous charges.
