A Friendswood girls’ softball coach who is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl was taken into custody late Thursday. According to Friendswood police, Ryan Jon Loofboro was arrested after reports of two incidents in March and April were reported, involving the alleged sexual assault of a pre-teen. A few weeks later after the alleged incidents, the 13-year-old girl told her parents, who then notified authorities.

Loofboro, 34, also works as a realtor, lives in Dickinson and sits on the planning and zoning committee there. Friendswood police are concerned that there may be other victims.

Loofboro is an assistant coach at the Friendswood Girls Softball Association and worked with the team of girls who were aged 14 and under this spring. He is charged with aggravated sexual assault and indecency with a child. His bail has been set at $40,000 for each count.
