According to area meteorologists, the city of Houston and outlying areas can expect a warm and muggy weekend. There is very little chance of rain for Father’s Day.

Friday began with lows in the mid 70s; highs for the day are expected to top off in the lower 90s. Friday’s heat index will make it feel as if it is between 101 and 103 degrees outside. There is a 20 percent chance of some isolated showers and thunder storms for Friday. The chances of rain will reamin in the forecast well into next week.

With a 30 percent of chance of rain for Saturday, thundershowers are expected to be within the costal areas Saturday morning.

In terms of the tropics, all is quiet on the Gulf. Tropical Storm Carlotta is out on the Pacific and is on the verge of becoming a hurricane. It is scheduled to make a track up the coast of Mexico near Acapulco over the weekend.
