An update this morning on the Tomball area couple that lost their four-year-old son in a fire at their home. Friends of Chris and Haley Provost have scheduled a benefit to help the family.

The benefit is scheduled for August 25 at Kruzzers Roadhouse in the magnolia area to raise funds for immediate needs such as funeral costs, medical bills and clothing for the couple and their three other children. Another benefit will be scheduled later to help raise money for housing.

Friends are in the process of setting up a bank account to receive donations.

Fire broke out in the home of Chris and Haley Provost in the 8500 block of Slash Pine around 7:30 Thursday morning. The couple and three of their children got out, but their son Jayden, 4, did not.

Klein firefighters rescued the boy, but it was too late. Surviving family members were treated for smoke inhalation. The Provost family lost everything in the fire including three pet dogs.

To make matters worse, Chris Provost recently posted on his facebook page that he had lost his job.the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
