As heat indicies in the Houston area will be well above 100 degrees Tuesday, there is a chance for scattered showers in the afternoon, according to area meteorologists.
Temperatures in areas north of Houston are expected to be hotter, topping out at 97 degrees. The heat index, however, will make temperatures feel as if they are between 102 to 107 degrees.
With a hot weather precaution day in effect, rain chances for both Tuesday and Wednesday are only 20 percent.
