Adam Yauch (Yowk) of ‘The Beastie Boys’ rapped that he wouldn’t “sell my songs for no TV ad.”
His will stated he wanted to make sure that held true after his death.
This past week, the will was filed in a Manhattan court, three months after his death from cancer at age 47. It says his image, name, “or any artistc property” he created can’t be used for advertising.
