Chief Odebyi was in town from Maryland for a family occasion. Set to leave Houston over the weekend, he and his wife thought they had good news for today.

RELATED STORIES:

“When they say they give us another flight, I thought that was good but when we get here now they said its cancelled.”

They are not the only ones spending some quality time at Bush Intercontinental Airport.

“I guess it’s very slim, I can’t wait to get there but I guess I’ll have to wait another day.

Houstonian Wayne Jefferson was hoping to fly out to Syracuse.

“I was trying to spend a little bit of Halloween with my family out there and my flight has been changed for tomorrow. I don’t leave out until tomorrow afternoon, I’m going to head out to denver first and from denver to new york

Jefferson took a week off of work for his vacation, never thinking that Hurricane Sandy would put a scare in his

halloween plans.

“I thought i would actually miss it or get there a little sooner before it got to the area.”

Jaqueline Verber was taking it all in stride. Getting home to Norfolk, Va., will take at least a day longer.

We were in California and heading to Norfolk when we call the airline to rebook flights. They were so busy of course we couldnt get through,”Verber said. “So we got tot he airport and thens till had our flight on for Houston and then we just rerouted, Norfolk is going to be a couple of days so we decided to go for Raleigh.

From there verber and her husband plan to rent a car and drive the three hours home to Norfolk.
