Two people are dead after a crash on the North Freeway overnight in north Houston. It happened around 1:20 a.m. Monday on the southbound lanes of I-45 near Aldine Bender.
According to police, a green Ford Explorer was stalled on the freeway when a white SUV slammed into the back of the Explorer. At least two people were in that white SUV at the time of the wreck. One passenger died at the scene.
The driver was trapped in the vehicle for 30 minutes before being cut out by first responders. The driver was taken to Ben Taub Hospital and later died.
