Houston police are investigating an attempted armored car robbery at a Meyer Park grocery store Tuesday afternoon.

It happened at the Randalls store located on West Belfort. Two men tried to hold up a Brinks truck in front of the store.

It was initially reported that shots were fired, but HPD investigators on the scene said no shots were fired and no one was hurt.

“Bank robberies and stuff like that happen often,” said Jazmine Gibson, a Wells Fargo employee. “But you know you want to make sure everybody’s fine, so I came here to make sure everyone wasn’t too shook up. I guess someone tried to attack the Brinks guy.”

That Brinks employee wasn’t harmed during the attempt.

The robbers were able to get away, with reportedly an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say the robbers sped away in a white Ford pick-up. Investigators continue to search for the pair.
