A judge will allow the accused Fort Hood shooter to be his own lawyer at his upcoming murder trial.

Last week, the judge cited a report noting that Major Nidal Hasan was mentally competent, but she wanted more information about his physical condition before ruling.  Hasan is paralyzed from the waist down after being shot by police the day of the rampage.

He faces life in prison or death if convicted of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder.
