The home invasion of the stink bugs might have seemed quite bad enough in 2010, but bug experts say they’ll be even worse this year. This is the time of year they’re most likely to stink up the place, since they look for warm spots as the weather cools. USA Today says stink bugs are most common in the Northeast, but have been spotted (or sniffed) in 30 states. Formally known as the brown marmorated stink bug, the insect originated in Asia, and gets its name from the unpleasant smell it emits when frightened or squashed.
