During this week’s episode of The Biggest Loser, season three winner of American Idol, Ruben Studdard, found out that he has type 2 diabetes.
Ruben’s insulin level, average blood sugar and instantaneous blood sugar levels were all high.
After hearing the news, Ruben told his coach, “I am afraid. I have seen a lot of lives cut short because of health issues. I’ve worked since I was 11-years-old to be a professional singer. That’s all I ever wanted to do.”
When Ruben started the show, he weighed 463 pounds. As of this week’s episode, he dropped to 431 pounds.
