The producers of Fast and the Furious and the series’ stars are devastated by the sudden death of Paul Walker on Saturday (November 30th) after a fiery car wreck in Southern California. The 40-year-old was in the middle of filming the seventh movie in the series when he passed.

Universal pictures released a statement saying, “All of us at Universal are heartbroken. Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the FAST AND FURIOUS films, and to countless fans. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul’s family.”

  • Vin Diesel posted a picture to Instagram of him and Paul posing together along with the caption, “Brother I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in Peace.”
  • Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson tweeted, “All my strength, love & faith to the Walker family during this heartbreaking time. We find our strength.. in his light. Love you brother.”
  • Director James Wan tweeted, “I am so beyond heartbroken right now. I can’t process anything.”
  • Tyrese Gibson also posted a photo of himself with Walker to Instagram and wrote, “My heart is hurting so bad no one can make me believe this is real Father God I pray that you send clarity over this cause I just don’t understand My heart hurts it’s broken no one can convince me that this is real…. Prayer warriors please pray real hard for his only child, his daughter and family…#HeartOfAnAngel13YrsFamilyForeverWeJustCelebreatedYour40thBirthday…..My God… My God… I can’t believe I’m writing this.”

Paul is survived by his 15 year-old daughter, Meadow.
