Oh, the power of prayer!  According to Daily Mail,

Many may pray for patience, but new research finds that praying helps some people stay in control of their emotions and behavior. German researchers found this by having volunteers who were of various faiths or atheists pray or think freely about one thing as intensely as possible. Then all participants were shown funny film clips and half were told to react normally to the clips, while half were told to suppress their emotions and control their facial expressions. Finally, participants were given one more test of self-control. Researchers say that those who thought freely in the beginning of the experiment struggled with the last test, while those who prayed still showed high levels of self-control, even if they had been instructed to suppress their emotions while watching the video. Researchers say, “These results are consistent with and contribute to a growing body of work attesting to the beneficial effects of praying on self-control.” (Daily Mail)

The power of prayer is real!  Won’t he do it?!
