Despite her opposition to President Obama‘s opinion about marijuana, Harris County district attorney Devon Anderson has a different opinion when it comes to Governor Perry.

Anderson says she agrees with the governor’s call for decriminalization of marijuana.

Texas spends 60-percent of a quarter billion dollars  on drug arrests each year is for marijuana possession. That kind of money could be invested elsewhere, like our education system or other programs that could help society thrive.

Civil right attorney, Randall Kalinen, says as society’s views on marijuana change decriminalization could be a first step in the legalization of pot.
