(PEARLAND, TX) — Police are investigating another armored car heist — this time in Pearland.
It happened around 10:20 a.m. Friday. One of the Loomis armored car guards was returning to the vehicle outside Walmart on North Main Street when two armed men ambushed him.
Police said a man with a handgun forced the guard to the ground while another gunman, who had a rifle, took a bag of cash the guard was carrying.
One Walmart customer said this part of Pearland is getting dangerous.
“I’ve been around Pearland a while now, and it’s getting bad,” he said. “I think it’s getting worse. At least at this Walmart.”
The thieves took off in a stolen tan Ford pickup truck, which was recovered a short distance away at a drainage ditch. The truck was ripped off two weeks ago.
Both suspects, believed to be male, wore masks and concealing clothing. Anyone with information on this crime can call Pearland police.
