NEWS 92 FM EXCLUSIVE  (HOUSTON) — We now know why Houston’s 311 director lost his job.

Kendall Baker was the subject of a sexual harassment investigation. Afterwards, Baker, who is also a minister, spoke out against Houston’s equal rights ordinance saying it would allow predators into women’s restrooms.

NEWS 92 FM’s Adela Uchida has more in this exclusive report:

Baker is a member of the Houston Area Pastors Council. Just a few weeks ago, Pastor Baker addressed Mayor Annise Parker as he spoke against Houston’s equal rights ordinance during public comment.

“I say to you, what if I came into the bathroom while you were sitting on the toilet? Wouldn’t you feel uncomfortable?” Baker asked.

But city records show Baker was placed on indefinite suspension from the city, after the Office of the Inspector General reportedly found Baker had sexually harassed subordinate female employees.

The document says a woman complained on June 27, 2013, and the investigation found Baker solicited sexual acts, made crude comments about female anatomy and hugged subordinate female employees.

The investigation also found Baker asked employees for donations to his church. The document says Baker denied the allegations.

This investigation became part of an exchange on May 13 between Baker and the mayor during the equal rights ordinance public comment.

“The reason I know the OIG is overwhelmed is because I just ended a 28-year, 11-month career with the city and was wrongfully terminated and the OIG did not handle the case appropriately,” Baker said.

To which the mayor replied:

“Absolutely, you are proof we do a good job in the OIG, sir.”

NEWS 92 FM has reached out to the council and Baker for a response.
