(HOUSTON) – An alleged intruder picked the wrong door to kick in Monday night.

A father in southwest Houston was on the other side of that door, making tacos for his kids. The quiet evening quickly turned into a knockdown, drag-out fight between the intruder and Tony Houck.

Houck tells our news partner, KHOU 11, that the fight started quickly.

“I turned and there was a guy standing in my face,” he said. “A split second later, he smacked me.”

Houck’s three kids, ages 5, 7, and 9, ran out to see what was happening. The family’s nanny called 911 as the brawl raged on.

“He almost got me in a chokehold, and I thought, ‘This is real.’ All of a sudden, this guy was trying to kill me,” Houck said.

Houck said the “crazed” intruder tried to gouge out his eyes before biting him on the back and “chewing.”

That was too much for Houck’s 5-year-old son, who landed a few punches on the guy.

The intruder ran of the house but collapsed on a neighbor’s front lawn.

Police said he is 32-year-old Noah Collier. Collier reportedly remains in the hospital and will likely face charges of burglary and assault.
