Bobby Womack was one of my all time favorite r&b soul singers and I was fortunate to get a chance to interview him when he was in town for his concert at the Arena Theatre, about a year ago. He was in rare form, energetic and talkative as ever. So I was amazed to read this story. Despite all those hit songs, ‘ Woman Got To Have It,’ ‘Harry Hippie,’ ‘Nobody Wants You,’ and many more and influence a lot of artist who came after him. Bobby Womack was reportedly broke when he passed away after a losing battle with pneumonia, Alzheimer’s disease, and prostate cancer. According to TMZ, the late singer’s family is allegedly trying to pay off debts left behind that include $250,000 back in child support.
