Though Old Navy’s men sizes are the same prize store wide, the clothing store is charging women more money for their plus-size items.

“While men pay the same price for regular and larger sizes, women get charged up to $12 to $15 more for plus sized items,” said TIME.

As a result, Old Navy is under fire and is facing a petition from consumers demanding the store to end its double standards.

“This overtly discriminatory pricing policy indicates sexism and sizeism on the part of Old Navy that is unfair to women of size and unacceptable to me as a consumer of Old Navy’s products,” states the petition on

According to a spokeswoman for Old Navy’s parent company, Gap Inc., responded to the situation by stressing men’s apparel does not need the attention women’s plus-size clothing requires.

Women who need larger sizes in clothing might be steering away from shopping at Old Navy.
