If you love taking selfies, then you’ll love this story from Tech Crunch,

The act of taking selfies has invaded pop culture around the world and now researchers at Brazil’s UFMG and Korea’s KAIST are attempting to define the phenmenon in a new paper called Dawn of the Selfie Era: The Whos, Wheres And Hows of Selfies on Instagram.

Researchers found that selfies are an effective way to get a response on social media, but their power is fading, and that young women are the most prominent group depicted in selfies globally. They also found that there is a complex set of relationships between culture and selfie behavior, hypothesizing that “women in countries with higher gender equality are more comfortable in sharing selfies publicly than in less equal countries.”

I personally don’t take selfies, but I do like look at beautiful people.
