On Monday, January 18, 2016, the North Houston Frontiers Club hosted its annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast at the Hilton Americas-Houston Downtown. This marked the twenty-eight anniversary of this event and became a very special occasion. The Keynote Speaker, Dr. Virgil Woods, a civil rights activist, educator, and former friend and colleague of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. James Harris, Director of Supplier Diversity at HEB and Deavra Daughtry, President and CEO of Excellent Management Care served as the Honorary Chairs. During the Breakfast, The Prestigious Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drum Major Award will be presented to Attorney Jarvis Hollingsworth, Partner, Bracewell & Giuliani LLP. There was also a moving address to the city of Houston, by it’s new Mayor, Sylvester Turner, concerning the division of the parades celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
