The U.S. Supreme Court is slated to decide whether President Obama will have the power to prevent illegal immigrants in our country from being deported. The controversy surrounding immigration laws derived from the administration’s demand that stopped President Obama from changing the reform policy via executive orders. Over four million immigrants whose children were born in the U.S. would benefit from President Obama’s orders. They would be allowed to stay in the country while their citizenship is being addressed. “Like millions of families across this country — immigrants who want to be held accountable, to work on the books, to pay taxes, and to contribute to our society openly and honestly — we are pleased that the Supreme Court has decided to review the immigration case,” said White House spokeswoman Brandi Hoffine. “The policies will make our communities safer. They will make our economy stronger. And they are consistent with the actions taken by presidents of both parties, the laws passed by Congress, and the decisions of the Supreme Court. We are confident that the policies will be upheld as lawful.” Twenty-six Republican states have opposed the president’s orders and federal courts in Louisiana and Texas have placed them on hold. Sarah Palin Backs Donald Trump
Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has shown her solidarity with Donald Trump. She recently made an appearance at a rally held for Trump at Iowa State University. “Are you ready for the leader to make America great again? Are you ready to stump for Trump? I’m here to support the next president of the United States — Donald Trump,” said Palin as Trump looked on. “He’s been going rogue left and right. That’s why he’s doing so well. He’s been able to tear the veil off this idea of the system.” Palin is one of the very few notable people deciding to back Trump during his presidential run. In the past, Palin has supported Trump’s rivals, including Senator Rand Paul and Senator Ted Cruz. Despite his outlandish remarks and controversial views, Trump is leading in the polls. According to a survey released by NBC, 38 percent of Republican voters support Trump. Read more.

Whoopi Goldberg on Boycotting the Oscars: “It’s a Slap in the Face to Chris Rock”
Many people in the entertainment industry have been outspoken about the extreme lack of diversity in this year’s Oscar nominations. While some are planning to boycott the awards ceremony, others believe that doing so is unfair to host Chris Rock. The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg recently shared her thoughts on the situation. “Boycotting doesn’t work, and it’s also a slap in the face to Chris Rock,” she said. “There’s not a lot of support for little companies that make movies that may be more diverse than anything else, but you can’t bitch about it just at Oscar time. Chris Rock is the host of the Academy Awards and to boycott him seems just as bad as what everybody is saying. To me, we have this conversation every year. It pisses me off.” A lot of Black entertainers, including Rock, are being pressured to boycott the show. Read more.
