Prince had just found out the news that his once girlfriend and protege, Denise “Vanity” Matthews had passed away before he took the stage at the Melbourne Arts Center in Australia on February 16th. Prince then did something he’s not known to do and that was to get personal about his relationship with Vanity back in the 80’s. He sat at the piano and performed a touching, intimate tribute in her honor and told stories showing his fans a completely different side of himself.
