This story is well….weird.

Wendell Pierce, best known for his starring role in ‘The Wire,’ is in hot water  after a fight in Atlanta led to his arrest, CNN reports.

Sources at Loews Hotel claim the actor started a conversation with a woman and her boyfriend at around 3:30am. Allegedly, the convo escalated into a political debate, when the woman Wendell was speaking with identified herself as a big Bernie Sanders supporter, according to TMZ.

Wendell, who is reportedly a devout Hillary fan, allegedly “became enraged, pushed the boyfriend and then went after his girlfriend…grabbing her hair and smacking her in the head,” the site explains.

Talk about 0 to 100 real quick.

Pierce was arrested and booked for battery. He posted a $1,000 bond and was released.

No word from his camp yet, but we’ll keep you up to date if anything develops.
