As onlookers view vintage vehicles from the 1950s, they are sure to feel overcome with appreciation and wistful affection for the classic cruisers of the past.

These cars are sure to transport attendees back in time, giving them a warm nostalgic glow by allowing them to interact with cars they don’t see every day. Avanti Senior Living at Towne Lake is inviting the public out to experience these feelings at a very special event in conjunction with the Niftee 50ees Classic Cruisers Family.

On June 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the senior living community will offer live music, a classic car show, food and entertainment for the whole family. Everyone is encouraged to attend in their 1950s attire to add spirit to the festivities. This event is free and open to the public. Avanti Senior Living at Towne Lake is located at 17808 Lakecrest View Drive, Cypress, TX 77433.

“We value familial relationships and strive to create events and opportunities for families and friends to come together to make new, fun memories,” said Christine Petruska, engagement coordinator for Avanti Senior Living at Towne Lake. “The antique car show will rekindle fond memories for our residents and fellow seniors in attendance, and it is our hope they share these stories with us and their families. Attendees will most certainly have their own opinions on which cars run the best, which are the most stylish and which are the fastest. We invite everyone to join in on the judging of their top three favorite classic cruisers.”

Avanti understands that baby boomers look back nostalgically at the 1950s – years that marked their early childhood experiences. A booming post-war economy helped shape the blissful retrospective view of that decade. The demand for consumer goods unleashed after the Great Depression and World War II sustained itself through the 1950s, leading to the creation and purchasing of the very cars that will be at the car show at the senior living community. Rock and roll made its debut with the iconic Elvis Presley breaking through the static and being played in cars around town. The Niftee 50ees Classic Cruisers event will embody influences from this entire era.

“Leading up to the event, residents will be making festive party favors and decorations for the classic car show,” said Christina Hale, executive director of Avanti Senior Living at Towne Lake. “Their enthusiasm about this event is contagious. We can see how much this era and this time of their lives means to them as we hear them share stories, recount the good times and joke about the way things used to be. We welcome everyone to Avanti Senior Living at Towne Lake to go back in time with us; to a decade of drive-in movies, ordering ice creams at the local diner and taking pride in these classic cars.
