Well, this should be a great night. According to Pulse of Radio,
Melissa Etheridge, Kenny Loggins, Heart‘s Ann Wilson, and Todd Rundgren, are among the artists on the bill for the March 6th The Music Of Aretha Franklin event at New York’s Carnegie Hall. In addition to the heavy hitters, fans can also expect tributes to the “Queen Of Soul” by Sarah Dash, Glen Hansard, Rhiannon Giddens, Taj Mahal, Living Colour, Allen Stone, Antibalas, and Bettye LaVette.
The show marks the City Winery promoter’s 14th “Music Of” series, with Pollstar reporting that “100 percent of net proceeds (will go) to music education organizations for underprivileged children, including Young Audiences New York, Little Kids Rock, Church Street School of Music, The Center For Arts Education, TON, Grammy in the Schools and D’Addario Foundation.”
That’s right! Give her her flowers while she yet lives.
